Back in the 60's, Mr. Chester McGregor started a book store Mac's Bookstore catering to the local community. With the selection of books, there was also a large section of greeting cards. When Ontario introduced lottery tickets, Mac's Bookstore was the first location to sell the lottery products in Sturgeon Falls. In the late 70's, office supplies were introduced and the name was changed to Mac's Bookstore & Office Supplies.
In August 1982 the store was sold to Serge Rancourt and it was incorporated under a numbered company and the operating name was changed to Mac's Office and School Supplies. Office equipment and furniture were added and the books were removed.
In November 1998, Yves Rancourt, son of Serge formed a partnership with his father and became majority owner. By 2007, with all the changes in the industry, both the OLG products and the greeting cards line were discontinued. The official name was now Mac's Office Supplies and it remains to this day.
Mr Serge Rancourt passed away in 2015 and Yves Rancourt remains very active after 34 years. The store now offers a full line of office supplies, furniture, printing, equipment and consumables.
